GEAR Field Team

GEAR Logo

Established in 2020, the Gear Field Team is a community comprised of Continuous Improvement Practitioner training program graduates.  With over one hundred members representing 14 State organizations, and the Judicial Branch, the team is delivering value through the execution of dozens of projects that leverage the skills and tools of continuous improvement, which include project management, business process analysis, and change management.

As the GEAR Field Team’s efforts have evolved, additional focus areas have emerged, with a business process management sub-team in place along with agencies developing their own continuous improvement teams and committees to align with GEAR.

The business process management sub-team focuses on sharing best practices in the use of process analysis tools and techniques—establishing a playbook to enhance the ability of State employees to effectively implement process mapping, identify waste, and streamline business processes.  This sub-team continues to evolve with a focus on the use of artificial intelligence tools surrounding continuous improvement and application of the existing GEAR Project Management Playbook. Overall, the GEAR Field Team continues to leverage industry best practices to develop the skills of its membership base as the number of projects and continuous improvement trainees increases.

I agree that my ideas are my own and I have the right to provide them to the State of Delaware and they are not confidential, and that there will be no compensation for providing these ideas and they may be used by the State of Delaware at any time and in any way.
GEAR is seeking specific ideas and comments on how to make the delivery of State government services more efficient. General constituent inquiries, requests, and complaints about State government services, programs, decisions or proposals should be directed to the Governor’s Constituent Relations Team at OGOV@Delaware.gov. The Governor’s Constituent Relations Team staff will be able to get these general constituent inquiries, requests and complaints addressed more expeditiously than the GEAR staff. Thank you.
